"It has been two months since my return from Winchester rehabilitation hospital and I have been cared for by the dedicated nurses and staff of Senior Helpers. I was unable to walk due to a severe case of edema in both legs. They have been wrapped with wound dressings from my knees to my ankles and have caused severe burning and stabbing pains. My care team has made my life more enjoyable and my home cleaner, safer, and a pleasure to live in again.
The care workers came into my home, which I hadn't been able to clean for months, and turned my cluttered, garbage filled apartment into a clean and habitable environment the first day on duty. They removed boxes, garbage bags and the discarded remains I had left over after moving to Woodstock Va. They dusted and mopped floors, washed counters and cleaned out my refrigerator. They also did all my laundry which had piled up since before I moved from Winchester, VA.
Their dedication, hard work and kindness has allowed me to heal and relieved my depression that set in while living in an atrocious environment. Their continued support has been a godsend. They have gone out to get groceries for me, pick up prescriptions and take me to doctor's appointments making sure that I don't fall and that I return home safely.
The CNAs of Senior Helpers have been courteous and on time though many have traveled long distances to care for me. Their positive attitudes have made me feel comfortable in my home when this has been so difficult for me to live through. Their reassurance and kindness has changed tears to a smile when the pain has been unbearable.
