Our History
Scott and Megan Archer met in 1998 at Texas State University. Looking back, it’s clear that their journey would take them exactly where they are today. Their backgrounds and experience make them “uniquely perfect” as a team, and their servant hearts make them the most fitting couple to help those in need of maintaining the most independence possible for as long as possible.
Scott received his Master’s Degree in Social Work from Texas State University in 2002 along with a certification in Long Term Care Administration. He has also received numerous professional licenses and certifications related to his profession which include Certified Dementia Practitioner. In addition to his education, Scott has had a very successful 20-year career as a Long-Term Care Administrator and has successfully managed every aspect of numerous long-term care facilities. Scott is also the owner of BSA Consulting Services and provides professional consulting services to other professionals in his field. His education, experience, and heart for people (as evidenced by his degree in social work) make him an expert in the field and an expert in fulfilling the needs of the aging population. Scott’s goal and the center of his heart is to help families maintain their quality of life and independence as they age through the right kind of assistance while continuing to live at home.
Scott’s perfect partner in achieving these goals is Megan Archer. She has been by his side from the very beginning and shares his love for all people, particularly those with special needs, children, and the disadvantaged. Megan put her teaching career aspirations on hold as she supported Scott in his career and cared for their two teenage children, Brianna and Aidan. However, even as a busy mom, Megan has always found ways to serve, care for, teach, and nurture those around her and in her life. During her college years, Megan worked as a volunteer through H.O.S.T.S. (Helping One Student to Succeed) and received awards as Outstanding Peer Assistant and the Dean’s Honor List. She has also worked as a teaching assistant and Special Education Paraprofessional where she supported students with special needs in various school settings to ensure their safety, educational, and behavioral goals were met. Megan has worked as a preschool teacher, nanny, and has also cared for and assisted first-time mothers by providing supportive care to both mother and child. Megan’s experience working with and caring for young children and children with special needs is extensive. As her experience and life’s work have demonstrated, Megan’s heart is to provide care, support, love, and the opportunity to now expand her very special touch to her clients and their families.
Together Scott and Megan proudly serve their community with Senior Helpers Texas Hill Country.
