We recognize the growing need for in-home care services, and with our passion for helping others, we are committed to delivering the best possible care to seniors in the McKinney community.

Our History

Senior Helpers was founded in 2002 by Tony Bonacuse with the help of Peter Ross after their firsthand experience in caring for their respective family members. Tony and Peter identified a need that was not being filled properly by the other companies. They realized most seniors would prefer to age in their own home rather than move into an unfamiliar institution. Unfortunately, the options available to most seniors were very limited. Most seniors did not have access to well-trained, dependable and affordable in-home care. This was the mission-driven spark that started Senior Helpers.

The first office opened in Baltimore and quickly developed a reputation for delivering excellent in-home senior care with their well-trained staff of professional caregivers. Based on the success of the Baltimore location, the company began to expand. Over the past 13 years, the Senior Helpers family has grown to include a network of more than 300 locally owned and operated franchises across the United States.

Senior Helpers McKinney was proud to join the system in 2019. Like every other owner, we too are fully committed to the original goal of providing dependable and affordable in-home care with well-trained caregivers. Nothing is more important to us than being the best available resource for seniors and families in our community.

Never send a stranger. Having caregivers show up at our door without being properly introduced or prepared is difficult. With Senior Helpers, this will not happen. A proper introduction will always be made.
Focus on our caregivers and the care that they provide you. We train our caregivers in many areas, such as Dementia & Alzheimer’s (through our exclusive Senior Gems program based on the Gems™, techniques, strategies, and overall approach to care which was created and developed by Teepa Snow, Positive Approach, LLC) to ensure they provide the best care. Additionally, we communicate with our caregivers daily and treat them with utmost respect as they are our business

Yvonne

Owner

Yvonne is the owner of Senior Helpers McKinney. With over two decades of experience in service and client relations, she has built a career on leadership, excellence, and a deep understanding of client needs. Her journey began as a caregiver, giving her firsthand insight into the challenges seniors face and the importance of compassionate, high-quality care. Now, as an owner, Yvonne is focused on building a team of exceptional caregivers, delivering unparalleled service, and ensuring seniors maintain their independence with dignity and respect.

Outside of her work, Yvonne enjoys traveling, discovering new experiences, and watching great movies. Above all, she loves spending time with her two amazing sons, who keep her on her toes and inspire her every day.

Tamika

Director of Operations

Tamika began her career in the medical field in 1996, earning her RN BSN in 2000 at Lousie Herrington School of Nursing. Since then, she has logged 23 years of experience working for Bariatric Surgeons, Pain Management MD's, Gero-Psychology, Psychology, and Geriatrics in hospital, facility settings and home care agencies. In 2014 she earned her degree as an LCSW at El Centro Community College. She is devoted mother of 3 and a grandmother of 1. She has the passion and ambition to work with seniors and their families.

Sarita

Care Team Manager

As the Care Team Manager at Senior Helpers McKinney, I am honored to lead a dedicated team committed to delivering compassionate, personalized in-home care to our senior community. With a background as a Certified Professional Life Coach and extensive experience in caregiving, I am passionate about enhancing the quality of life for our clients. Our goal is to ensure that seniors in Collin, Grayson, and Denton counties receive dependable and affordable care, empowering them to maintain independence and dignity in the comfort of their homes.

Hannah

Office Manager

Hannah is happily married to her high school sweetheart, Max, and they’ve been together for nearly a decade. They are currently in the exciting process of becoming foster parents and recently purchased their first home in the countryside, where they’re enjoying the joys of homeownership. Their three energetic and loving dogs keep their lives full of fun and adventure!

Hannah’s journey in the senior care industry began in 2018 as a caregiver, and through dedication and hard work, she advanced to an HR Manager role. She was previously part of the Senior Helpers McKinney team as a receptionist and, after a brief time away, is thrilled to be back—now as the Office Manager. She looks forward to contributing to the company’s success and supporting both the team and the clients we serve!
