Meet the Greenwood Office

More than 90% of seniors want to age in their own home with dignity but getting the right type of care can seem daunting.  At Senior Helpers of Greenwood we believe getting the best care for your loved ones should not be complicated. We take the opportunity to provide in-home care seriously and make it a priority to provide the highest level of client service possible. We have built an exceptional team of care professionals, each committed to remaining at the forefront of the in-home care industry through our proprietary ongoing training and education programs.

Our History

Our History

Senior Helpers was founded in 2002 by Tony Bonacuse with the help of Peter Ross after their firsthand experience in caring for their respective family members. Tony and Peter identified a need that was not being filled properly by the other companies.  They realized that most seniors would prefer to age in their own home rather than move into an unfamiliar institution. Unfortunately, the options available to most seniors were very limited. Most seniors did not have access to well-trained, dependable and affordable in-home care. This was the mission-driven spark that started Senior Helpers.

The first office opened in Baltimore, and quickly developed a reputation for delivering excellent in-home senior care with their well-trained staff of professional caregivers. Based on the success of the Baltimore location, the company began to expand.  Over the past 13 years, the Senior Helpers family has grown to include a network of more than 300 locally owned and operated franchises across the United States.

Senior Helpers of Greenwood was proud to join the system in 2018. Like every other owner, we too are fully-committed to the original goal of providing dependable and affordable in-home care with well-trained caregivers. Nothing is more important to us than being the best available resource for seniors and families in our community.

We have been lucky to serve hundreds of seniors in our community over the years, and we are committed to continuing to provide uncompromising levels of care to all our families.

Our process

Our process

When you are in need of senior care or simply have a question of how to navigate this unique industry, one of our local office staff is available to assist you 24/7. We all understand the exhaustion of taking care of all life’s needs, especially when you are the primary caregiver to another, that is why we are there to assist you with any questions you might have on what route to take to care for your loved one.

The first step in the process is a complimentary, initial in-home care assessment. This assessment can help you understand the true needs of your loved one, and your options. Together we can discuss your loved one's needs, our senior care services and determine what is best for your entire family.

We will cover:

  • Your family's specific goals
  • Your loved one's daily plan design and schedule
  • Pricing and payment methods
  • Implementation process
  • Ongoing communication and follow-up plan

David Nabors

David Nabors

Owner

Senior Helpers of Greenwood is locally owned and operated by David Nabors, who is dedicated to improving the lives of seniors in his community. A longtime resident of the area, David is deeply committed to providing high-quality care and support.

Inspired by his personal experience caring for his parents through their medical and cognitive decline, David understands the challenges families face when a loved one needs care. He is passionate about educating the community about alternatives to personal care, ensuring families can provide their loved ones with the safety, comfort, and peace of mind that comes from staying at home.

David is especially dedicated to supporting Veterans, who often hesitate to seek care. He is determined to raise awareness of the programs available to them, many of which have been earned through their service. He also has a personal interest in helping those affected by cognitive conditions such as Dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and ALS, ensuring they receive the compassionate care they deserve.

David holds a Master of Business Administration from Limestone College, a Bachelor of Business Administration from Francis Marion University, and is certified in Six Sigma Green and Lean Belt from Villanova University. His professional background and personal experiences drive his commitment to serving the seniors in Greenwood with the highest quality of care.

David is married to Paula, who has worked in special education and counseling for many years. Together, they have three children: Hunter, Carsyn, and Copeland. In his spare time, David enjoys home and yard projects and planning family events, particularly with his youngest son, Copeland. The Nabors family is active in South Main Baptist Church of Greenwood, where they participate in various church programs.

Autumn

Autumn

Senior Clerical Associate

Meet our absolutely amazing Senior Clerical Associate, Autumn. Born and raised in Saluda, SC, Autumn completed her Bachelor’s of Science in Business at our local Lander University. Autumn is trained in the expertise of professionalism and management and uses this knowledge daily to ensure our clients and caregivers questions and concerns are promptly dealt with. Daily she progresses towards learning the inner workings of professional senior care by participating in local events such as events with the Alzheimer's Association, Senior Expos, Chamber of Commerce events, and other learning opportunities to ensure she has a broad understanding of the community she serves and the resources available to them. Senior Helpers staff, caregivers, and clients are abundantly blessed to have her.

I chose senior care for my aunt immediately after she moved into Wesley Commons, secondary to the one-on-one care I felt she needed. After speaking with Wesley Commons they were quick to suggest Senior Helpers and we were not disappointed. They took the time to match my aunt with the appropriate caregivers for her needs. She struggled with rapid onset Alzheimer’s and the caregivers all demonstrated patience with reminding her of her safety, location, and other important things that seemed to escape her during that time. Their training program, Senior Gems, that they specialize their caregivers in seems to really pay off in times when she needed it most.
