She was restricted from seeing her family and felt extremely isolated because she couldn't touch or spend time face to face with her family. On the other hand, Cody also witnessed how his wife's grandmother benefitted from staying home during this time. She was able to sit on her back porch and enjoy the weather, move freely in her own home, have people over and hug and hold her family. After this experience, he became passionate about bringing that level of comfort and care to seniors and their families in the Reading area. Senior Helpers was founded in 2002 after a firsthand experience in caring for a family member. The founders identified a need that was not being filled properly by the other companies. They realized that most seniors would prefer to age in their own home rather than move into an unfamiliar institution. Unfortunately, the options available to most seniors were very limited. Most seniors did not have access to well-trained, dependable and accessible in-home care. This was the mission-driven spark that started Senior Helpers.
