Meet the Huntingdon Valley office

Senior Helpers of Huntingdon Valley is a mission-based, in-home care service with a purpose. A company made up of dedicated individuals where the needs of the employees and clients come first to create the highest quality caregiving in Montgomery, Bucks and Philadelphia counties.

Realizing a “Team” approach is required in coordinating a client’s care, Pat brought in Bruce Gold, RN as the Director of Operations along with Zac Cary to manage the daily operations. Senior Helpers of Huntingdon Valley is committed to providing a home care experience that earns their client's trust and ultimately provides the support and relief that everyone is seeking.

At Senior Helpers of Huntingdon Valley, each caregiver candidate is personally interviewed by Zac and Bruce.  Each caregiver goes through a thorough background check, and then once hired, caregivers are continuously trained in the senior in-home care industry by a certified trainer. Each caregiver is treated with the highest level of dignity and respect and is invited to be part of a culture, where we put the needs of others ahead of ourselves. We are committed to our clients, no matter

Our History

Senior Helpers was founded in 2002 by Tony Bonacuse with the help of Peter Ross after their firsthand experience in caring for their respective family members. Tony and Peter identified a need that was not being filled properly by the other companies.  They realized that most seniors would prefer to age in their own home rather than move into an unfamiliar institution.  Unfortunately, the options available to most seniors were very limited.  Most seniors did not have access to well-trained, dependable and accessible in-home care. This was the mission-driven spark that started Senior Helpers.

The first office opened in Baltimore, Maryland, and quickly developed a reputation for delivering excellent in-home senior care with their well-trained staff of professional caregivers. Based on the success of the Baltimore location, the company began to expand.  Over the past 20 years, the Senior Helpers family has grown to include a network of more than 300 locally owned and operated franchises across the United States.

Senior Helpers of Huntingdon Valley was proud to join the system in 2024.  Like every other owner, we too are fully-committed to the original goal of providing dependable and accessible in-home care with well-trained caregivers. Nothing is more important to us than being the best available resource for seniors and families in our community.  We are lucky to serve hundreds of seniors in our community, and we are committed to continuing to provide uncompromising levels of care to all our families.

Our process

Our process

The first step in the process is a complimentary, initial in-home care assessment with a Senior Helpers consultant.  This assessment can help you understand the true needs of your loved one, and your options. Together we can discuss their needs, our senior care services and determine what’s best for your entire family.

We will cover:

  • Your family's specific goals
  • Your loved one's daily plan design and schedule
  • Pricing and payment methods
  •  Implementation process
  • Ongoing communication and follow-up plan

Meet the Huntingdon Valley Team

Patrick J. Cary, MPT

Owner

Senior Helpers of Huntingdon Valley is locally owned and operated by Patrick J. Cary, MPT who was raised in Bucks County and continues to reside in Bucks County. Pat is proud to be part of an outstanding team of caregivers and office staff.

Pat is a Graduate of Temple University where he received is Bachelor of Arts in General Studies in 1991 and a Master of Physical Therapy in 1993. Patrick has worked as a physical therapist in a multitude of settings including 28 years as a home health physical therapist. Following graduation and starting his career in physical therapy Pat married, and with his wife, raised three children.

After 28 years of servicing clients as a physical therapist in Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties, Pat has developed an excellent understanding of clients’ and their family’s needs in recovery from recent hospitalizations, managing chronic diseases, and coping with end-of-life decisions. Most importantly, Pat has developed an excellent ability to assist and direct clients and their families in safely and effectively remaining in their homes.

But Pat knew that helping people to age gracefully and safely in place requires not just support from friends and family and the medical community, it requires loving and high-quality caregiving. Hence Senior Helpers of Huntingdon Valley was born.
