We look for particular characteristics which we know are the making of great caregivers: these are common sense, reliability, empathy, good judgment, consistency, and level headedness. Our staffing approach and philosophy at Senior Helpers Boston and South Shore is that each of our clients receives a customized, tailored, and nurse-driven Plan of Care. This starts with a comprehensive Assessment Process. Our Caregiver assignments are predicated on these Plans and the individual emotional, physical and psychological needs of each client.

I’m 68 now. Nine years ago I divorced and moved in with my 85 year old mother when she had early stage dementia. Of course, I didn’t technically know what it was, but she shouldn’t be left alone at home or cooking by herself anymore. That was when I found my purpose. It started with caring with her, but has turned into my life’s work. This is such important work – care-taking the elderly who have lived important lives. I have now acquired so many skills, and so much knowledge about aging. I can’t put a price tag on this. I now delight and find great peace in caring for a 99 and 100 year old couple..

When can I expect to hear back?

At Senior Helpers Boston and South Shore our goal is to respond to all care inquiries within 8 hours of receipt. Employment inquiries will be responded to within 24 hours of receipt. Our office is open Monday – Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm local time, and after-hours calls are routed to one of our very competent team members. You should always hear a warm, friendly voice on the other end of the line when you call- 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
