This event was part of the Senior Helpers Salute campaign, designed to engage the community in expressing gratitude to our current active duty military members through heartfelt letters.
The event garnered significant media attention, with coverage on Atlanta News First. The segment highlighted the enthusiastic participation of both staff and veterans at Cottonwood Estates. One of the event's poignant moments featured 84-year-old veteran Chris Werthman, who shared the deeply personal story of keeping letters from second-grade students during his deployment over 60 years ago. These letters, filled with encouragement and appreciation, continue to be cherished memories for him.
