In order to stay informed, our staff is continually taking courses offered on all types of diseases and health issues. I’ve had an acquaintance for several years who had stated she had lost her sense of smell and the doctors just told her, “sometimes this happens, no worries.” After taking several classes on Parkinson’s, I found an interesting fact...
Sometimes, a person will lose their sense of smell up to 10 years prior to having any symptoms of Parkinson’s. In my acquaintance’ case, after my informing her of this fact, she pretty much dismissed what I told her for two years. Then, one day, she emails me and tells me she has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s. I’m glad I was able to give her this two-year warning but just think if she had started taking some of the prescribed precautions two years earlier.
Senior Helpers knows all the different symptoms of Parkinson’s along with what every person can and cannot do based upon their symptoms. We are always here to help, call us at 904-779-5515.
