Big Tree Park, Longwood, Florida

Big Tree Park is located on the General Hutchison Parkway between U.S. 17-92 and State Road 427 in Longwood, Florida. This Seminole County area park is home to a 2,000-year-old bald cypress tree known as “Lady Liberty.” Encourage family caregivers and senior loved ones to schedule weekly or daily walks at this quiet area park. If senior family members enjoy the outdoors and going for relaxing walks, this is the park to visit. Big Tree Park includes restrooms, a shaded picnic area, and a boardwalk.

This area park is open daily from 8 a.m. until dusk.

Bradlee-McIntyre House and Museum, Longwood, Florida

Visitors will enjoy stepping back in time as they tour the Bradlee-McIntyre House, a local Queen Anne-style cottage that is on the National Register of Historic Places. Touring this area house is a delight for Longwood residents and visitors from neighboring Altamonte Springs, Casselberry, and Winter Springs. Invite senior loved ones and family caregivers to take a tour of the Bradlee-McIntyre House and Museum on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Tours are also available on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. For group tours, please call (407) 332-0225. Reiter Park, Longwood, Florida

This Longwood area park includes senior-friendly amenities, including tennis courts, a walking path, a basketball court, and a fishing pier. Reiter Park is maintained by the City of Longwood and is open from dawn until dusk. Sanlando Park, Altamonte Springs, Florida

This 40-acre park in Altamonte Springs, Florida, has plenty to offer to Seminole County residents, including those living in neighboring Longwood. Sanlando Park is a Seminole County public tennis facility. In addition to its multiple tennis and racquetball courts, visitors have access to a wooded nature trail, picnic areas, restrooms, and playgrounds, along with basketball courts and a sand volleyball area. Sanlando Park also offers direct access to the Seminole County Wekiva Trail!

Encourage senior loved ones and care partners to take daily walks at the park’s nature trail or help them sign up for tennis classes. This area park is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
