Meet the Gilbert & Chandler office

More than 90% of seniors want to be able to age in their own home with dignity but getting the right type of care can seem daunting.  At Senior Helpers of Gilbert & Chandler we believe that getting the best care for your loved ones should not be complicated.  We recognize the growing need for in-home care services, and with our passion for helping others, we are committed to delivering the best possible care to seniors in the Chandler community. 

We take the opportunity to provide care in your home seriously and make it a priority to provide the highest level of client service possible.  We have built an exceptional team of care professionals, each committed to remaining at the forefront of the in-home care industry through our proprietary ongoing training and education programs. Our History

Our History

Senior Helpers was founded in 2002 by Tony Bonacuse with the help of Peter Ross after their firsthand experience in caring for their respective family members. Tony and Peter identified a need that was not being filled properly by the other companies.  They realized that most seniors would prefer to age in their own home rather than move into an unfamiliar institution.  Unfortunately, the options available to most seniors were very limited.  Most seniors did not have access to well-trained, dependable and accessible in-home care. This was the mission-driven spark that started Senior Helpers. 

The first office opened in Baltimore, Maryland, and quickly developed a reputation for delivering excellent in-home senior care with their well-trained staff of professional caregivers. Based on the success of the Baltimore location, the company began to expand.  Over the past 13 years, the Senior Helpers family has grown to include a network of more than 300 locally owned and operated franchises across the United States. 

Senior Helpers of Gilbert & Chandler was proud to join the system in 2022.  Like every other owner, we too are fully-committed to the original goal of providing dependable and accessible in-home care with well-trained caregivers. Nothing is more important to us than being the best available resource for seniors and families in our community.  We are lucky to serve hundreds of seniors in our community, and we are committed to continuing to provide uncompromising levels of care to all our families.

The first step in the process is a complimentary, initial in-home care assessment with a Senior Helpers consultant.  This assessment can help you understand the true needs of your loved one, and your options. Together we can discuss their needs, our senior care services and determine what’s best for your entire family.

We will cover:

  • Your family's specific goals
  • Your loved one's daily plan design and schedule
  • Pricing and payment methods
  •  Implementation process
  • Ongoing communication and follow-up plan

Meet the Gilbert & Chandler Team

James DeVary

James DeVary

Owner

James’ entire life has been around caregivers. Growing up, James watched his mother care for his older brother who was diagnosed with cancer. He remembers his mother taking him and his siblings to senior living facilities to spend the day with the residents so they would not be lonely. As an adult, James has volunteered with wounded veterans for over a decade. James is a veteran himself, having served 8 years in the U.S. Army as an enlisted infantryman serving in both Operations Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. His experience as a guide being with the veterans and their families showed him a different side of caregiving.

James loves that Senior Helpers of Gilbert & Chandler allows him to give back and support the families in his community. He is passionate about building a team in his area that will make a difference for the better. James was taught many valuable lessons in the Army, but the one that he finds to be most valuable is that you always want to make your community better for others.

Analaura DeVary

Owner

Analaura loves that Senior Helpers of Gilbert & Chandler allows her to care for individuals who need help with their day to day. Analaura understands firsthand how hard caring for a senior loved one can be after her father suffered a debilitating stroke. She recognizes that it is not only hard for the individual who has lost some or all their independence, but also how hard it can be for the family. Living far away from her father, she understands the importance of high-quality in-home care and knows how helpful it can be. As a daughter she wants the best care for her dad, someone to take him to appointments, make sure he takes his medications on time and helps him with hygiene and meals. It gives Analaura so much peace of mind knowing that her father is not alone and she is so proud to be able to give back to the seniors in her community.

Fran came to Senior Helpers with a background in the optical field. Working as an optician, she took a special liking to working with senior patients and, quickly, knew that she wanted to be an effective part of caring for this community. Fran's goal at Senior Helpers is to provide a high standard of care to clients and their families by focusing on the hiring, training, and scheduling of quality caregivers.

Marilyn brings over 20 years of staffing expertise to her role as Weekend Scheduler. With a genuine passion for caregiving, she excels in matching families with the perfect caregivers to meet their unique needs. Dedicated to service and driven by compassion, Marilyn ensures that every client receives the highest level of care and support.

Kimberly Martin

Kimberly Martin

Scheduling Coordinator

Kimberly comes from a background in customer service with 20 years of experience and is originally from Colorado. Helping others has always been a passion for her. Tired of over-the-phone customer service, Kimberly decided to look into something more personal. When she heard about Senior Helpers, she decided to check them out and is glad she did. Becoming a caregiver and making a difference in a senior's day is very rewarding for her. Learning about their lives and sharing a few laughs is always a great time! She was promoted to Scheduling Coordinator and now gets to see the other side of caregiving. Kimberly still works as a caregiver when needed and looks forward to growing with the company. In her downtime, she enjoys hanging out with her family and friends.
